Built by North American Aviation the T-28 Trojan was built as a trainer & had a 800HP Radial Engine
French Air Force "Armee de L"Air" bought up a number of these aircraft & modified them by Sud Aviation.
Mods include uprated Radial 1425HP engine, armour plating,hard points on wings for bombs/rockets & desert camouflage colours, new name Fennec "Desert Fox"
Thes planes were used in the Algerian war of independence in the late 1950s
